I have been teaching online for a few years now and have tried so many tools that I can’t even keep track. I can tell you depending on your needs, goals, and budget what tools/ resources would work best for you. It’s fun to try new things but I wanted something that would become a complete “online command station” where I could do pretty much everything including managing a project, booking appointments, delivering video courses and so on.
After researching it for a while, I decided to go with G Suite and Google Classroom. The added benefit was that I could become a certified Google Educator then trainer and innovator. So I got to work.
The Google Certified Educator program is offered at two levels: the fundamentals level (1), and the advanced level (2).
Google Certified Educator Level 1: The educator can “successfully implement Google for Education into their teaching practice to enhance teaching and learning.”
Google Certified Educator Level 2: The educator can “successfully integrate a wider range of Google for Education tools and other technologies to transform their teaching practice.”

Google Certification Tips to Help You Pass the Exam
- Have a timeline: for me, it was one week to get the level 1 & 2 certifications.
- Have a study plan: break it down and give yourself a deadline for each step ( study, practice, & exam)
- Get familiar with G Suite: play around with the tools
- Practice.
- Register in advance. Once you register, your exam will be ready in 24 to 48 hours. Once you purchase your exam you have 7 days to take it.
- Just do it. Don’t wait until you feel 100% ready. I lost 2 days just because I didn’t feel ready for it. Avoid that mistake
